Improving the accuracy of compass data for a 3D image-capturing app, for a residential property measurement company (Further details under NDA)
Aim:
Surveyors were providing inaccurate compass readings — a critical issue for the business. My task was to design a user-friendly way to collect accurate compass data directly within the app.
Outcome:
I collaborated closely with surveyors, client-facing teams, and operations to fully understand the problem from every angle. Listening to stories from those who used the app daily gave me valuable context, which directly shaped my approach.
Balancing technical requirements with on-the-ground realities, I explored multiple concepts and iterated prototypes based on real user feedback. The final solution was tested, refined, and eventually adopted by the business — replacing the old analog method with a faster, more reliable, and accurate process.
